Lend Lease sheds construction and infrastructure divisions

Lend Lease Group has revealed a restructuring which will result in the abolition of its construction and infrastructure division. The move is in response to the impending retirement of the head of the division, David Saxelby, while Lend Lease has completed the process of integrating the division's businesses into its broader operations. These businesses include Abigroup and Baulderstone, which Lend Lease acquired in 2011.

Villa World on track to return to pre-GFC sales

Listed house-and-land developer Villa World is on track to return to its pre-global financial crisis lot sales of more than 1000 per year, as it enters the ASX 300 today. Channel 9 studios to be sold to property developers

The network has appointed commercial real estate service CBRE to manage the sale of the studios in Willoughby. The move comes after Willoughby Council approved a concept plan to develop up to 400 residential dwellings, over five apartment buildings and two rows of terraces last month.

Australian households have largest debts in the world

Australia leads the way globally when it comes to household debt, as a result of large mortgages, credit cards and personal loans, according to research by Barclays. Barclays chief economist Kieran Davies says Australian household debt averages 130 per cent of GDP, compared to 78 per cent across the advanced world.
