The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) has launched its search for its next Chief Executive Officer to steer the organisation at a key time for Australia’s 10 trillion-dollar real estate sector.
REIA President, Ms Leanne Pilkington said the successful CEO will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Australia’s property markets and ensuring unity across the Federation.
“This is a rare opportunity to lead a national industry body at a time of significant change in the real estate sector as we head into the next Federal Election which must be held before May 2025.
“The new CEO will be at the forefront of efforts to ensure that member Real Estate Institutes and the professional interests of real estate practitioners are well served at a Federal level as Australia’s housing supply shortage continues.”
Ms Pilkington said REIA is seeking a politically and commercially savvy leader with a deep understanding of the real estate industry and the challenges it faces.
“The Board of the Real Estate Institute of Australia has identified that the ideal candidate will be a strong advocate, capable of engaging with government officials and other key stakeholders to advance the interests of REIA members.
"In addition to a proven track record of leadership, the CEO must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess the analytical and financial acumen necessary to manage the organisation effectively.”
The role will be based in Canberra, ACT and report directly to the President and Board of Directors.
This follows the resignation of outgoing REIA CEO Anna Neelagama who will join Master Builders ACT as their new CEO in September 2024.
Hays have been appointed by the Board of REIA to run the selection process. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Paul Phillips at [email protected] or 02 8226 9751 for a confidential discussion.
