Prash Nayar from Perth Realty Group has been recognised as Western Australia’s best auctioneer, winning the senior category at REIWA’s annual Gift of the Gavel Auctioneering Championships. 

The awards took place on Tuesday 6 September at Wembley Golf Course and showcased the state’s top auctioneering talent. 

Murray Winter from Realmark North took out the title for novice auctioneer after a solid performance. 

REIWA CEO Cath Hart said the competition set a strong benchmark for WA auctioneering standards. 

“Our state produces some amazing talent, despite auctions being a niche segment of the WA market,” Ms Hart said. 

“This gives confidence to the buyers and sellers who choose to sell or bid at a local auction.” 

“Prash delivered a seamless and captivating auction that earned him the attention of the judges and the audience. He will be a great representative for WA at the National Awards in Sydney in mid-October.” 

Mr Nayar will represent REIWA at the 2022 Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROS) in Sydney from October 16-18. It’s set to be bigger than ever after two years of cancelations due to COVID-19 restrictions.
