Bronte Manuel, an auctioneer with Toop & Toop, has won the Real Estate Institute of South Australia (REISA) Auctioneering Championships for the fourth time in a row.
It seems Bronte Manuel is unstoppable.
The talented young auctioneer has taken out the REISA Auctioneering Championships four times in a row now, but this will be the fifth consecutive year Manuel will compete in the Australasians, as he also won the Society of Auctioneers and Appraisers’ Golden Gavel competition back in 2014.
The Golden Gavel used to be the qualifier for the Australasians, but the new REISA competition replaced it as the pathway to the international competition in 2015.
Manuel told WILLIAMS MEDIA he can't wait to represent Australia again.
Manuel says that while some auctioneers pooh-pooh auctioneering competitions, he finds that the best auctioneers in Australia are the ones who are competing at these events.
"There are auctioneers that will typically say 'oh it's not a real auction', but what I find is that the best auctioneers in Australia are all at the Australasian Championships - coincidence?," Manuel said.

Manuel told WILLIAMS MEDIA he'd love to see more female auctioneers.
"There's a growing trend, but there's not that many female auctioneers at the moment.
"Five or ten years ago, there weren't that many female real estate agents, and now if you look at the top real estate agents in Australia, about 50 per cent of those are female.
"Our top agent at Toop & Toop is female. The top agent at Harcourts South Australia is female. There has been such a gravitational shift in that regard.
"Twenty years ago, you would have gone 'oh, there's the odd female but she's got balls' or something very derogatory in that regard.
"There's definitely that persona in auctioneering that 'you need to have a deep voice and you need to be a male' but I think that is changing significantly.
"To watch Sharon get up and make it into the finals was awesome and I think it will give more females the confidence to get into auctioneering.
"Fifty per cent of the best auctioneers could be female in the future, I genuinely think so. It would be great for that to happen," Manuel said.
Simon Jones, an auctioneer with Harcourts Plus finished in second place and will also go on to represent South Australia at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships.
The CEO of REISA, Greg Troughton, told WILLIAMS MEDIA winning four times in a row is no mean feat.

"What a spectacular result for Bronte – four wins in a row is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations also to Simon and I wish the two of them the best of luck in the Australasians.

I was also thrilled to see many new faces competing this year and well done to Sharon Gray for making the finals this year – surely not the last time we will see her or any of the other contestants in action in the future," Troughton said.
“We all take great pride in our Auctioneering Championships. The event is as professional and transparent as it can be. It is judged by a panel of interstate judges – all under the experienced eye of our chief judge, Jonathon Moore” Troughton said.
