D'Leanne Lewis has achieved the highest price ever paid for a semi-detached home in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
D’Leanne Lewis of Laing+Simmons Bondi Beach has set a new record price for a semi in Sydney's eastern suburbs, selling the property at auction last week for $4.75 million.
The property at 6 Salisbury Road, Rose Bay, received "spirited bidding" by the six registered bidders. The eventual buyer was an owner-occupier.
Lewis said she showed 120 parties through the home, and therefore expected a strongly contested auction.
“We anticipated a competitive auction and the vendor was not disappointed," said Lewis.
The sale "highlights the demand for quality residences that combine a prime location with the Eastern Suburbs lifestyle," said Lewis.
The property was designed by Sydney architect, Julian Brenchley, becoming a contemporary, luxury home yet retaining classic period touches.
“This home has broad appeal given its low maintenance, free-flowing, flexible living spaces, pristine gas kitchen with butler’s pantry, heated pool, separate studio retreat, and custom study,” said Lewis.
The home had four large bedrooms, three luxury bathrooms and a powder room, had off-street parking, and was an easy level walk to shops, cafes and the ferry.
It was really "the ideal Eastern Suburbs pad," said Lewis.
The record price "sets the scene for an interesting year ahead," said Lewis.
"We’ve been conditioned to expect more subdued prices this year but this sale shows that demand for exceptional quality homes is enduring."
