Laing+Simmons has welcomed a new office to its growing network in Sydney, with Laing+Simmons The Roger Agha Group recently completing the fitout of a new office in Concord, in a historic building which holds a strong place in the Principal’s heart.
Roger Agha has deep local experience in Concord and the inner west as it’s a market he’s operated in his whole professional life. Now he’s back in the building in which he honed his skills during the formative years of his career.
Laing+Simmons The Roger Agha Group is at 65 Majors Bay Road, in the heart of Concord, in the former home of Richards First National, the first real estate office to open in the suburb back in 1969. One of Mr Agha’s first jobs was with the Richards First National team, which he joined in 2003, and he still has fond memories of the business’s culture.
Fast forward more than two decades and his decision to join Laing+Simmons was largely about the organisational culture of support that sets the brand apart.
“We know our market intimately, so it’s really about the support systems, including people-focused training and development, which will provide us a competitive advantage as we grow,” Mr Agha says.
“We have developed our customer service proposition to be more bespoke to the individual, their circumstances and their needs, and the Laing+Simmons brand aligns with this approach.
“It was important for us to be part of a boutique network with an aligned value system, and the Laing+Simmons support services enable the team and I to do what we do best and most enjoy, and that’s interacting with our customers.
“I’ve known the Corporate team at Laing+Simmons for many years, I know many of the other franchise partners in the network, so it was a natural fit to join the brand because the trust is already there. Looking ahead, I’m excited to build my personal brand further in a supportive, non-restrictive way,” Mr Agha says.
As the business name suggests, growth is on the agenda. This includes the recruitment of talented new people to the team.
“The fact Laing+Simmons offers an in-house recruitment service was an attractive consideration in deciding to align with the brand. It’s a service we’ll definitely look to leverage in the short-term as we seek to grow our team with highly capable people,” Mr Agha says.
“Beyond this, we’re taking a long-term view in creating a successful and sustainable business which will ideally include the addition of complementary offices to serve a broader catchment. The Laing+Simmons model not only supports but helps to facilitate our ambitious growth plan. We look forward to serving the local community for many years to come,” he says.
Laing+Simmons Head of People & Growth Jacqui Barnes has welcomed Mr Agha and the team to the network.
“The team at Laing+Simmons The Roger Agha Group are leaders in the local markets and the fact they have chosen to become part of our network to elevate their business speaks volumes for our culture of support. We’re preparing to announce more new offices to the network in the first quarter as our growth plan matures in 2025 and beyond," Ms Barnes says.
