The Medal of the Order of Australia has been awarded to Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) CEO, Quentin Kilian, on the King’s birthday, in acknowledgement of his service to the real estate industry.
The Order of Australia (OAM) recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement. Quentin Kilian has been recognised for his significant contribution to the real estate industry, as both a leader at REINT and REIV, and an advocate for policy that reflects the best interests of market investors, renters, and professionals.
Quentin Kilian, has been awed by the recognition, noting that for him, he just proud to be able to do what he loves every day.
REIV CEO, Quentin Kilian, has said: “I’m beyond flattered that someone has seen something so special in the work that I do. I get to do the thing I love in an industry that continues to drive so much professional and personal meaning for Australians. Receiving the OAM has been a true highlight of my career and acts as a reminder of the ongoing opportunity to strengthen, grow and futureproof Australia’s real estate industry.”
“This acknowledgement has certainly taken me by surprise, but I am honoured to sit alongside the other OAM recipients and will continue to serve the industry that delivers so much for so many Australians.”
Governor-General David Hurley said the recipients had made substantial contributions and had a significant impact at the local, national or international level.
“They are all inspiring and their service is valued by us all,” he said.
The REIV has celebrated the achievement online, praising Quentin Kilian for his appointment and recognising his dedication to the industry, the REIV and it’s members.
Prominent Australians, including author Tim Winton and late comedian Barry Humphries, were also among those who have been appointed to the Order of Australia. The appointments were announced on Sunday night, ahead of King Charles's first birthday as monarch.
