Gavin Croft has joined the global RE/MAX network’s top Australian office as Sales Director after an extensive and successful real estate career including senior management roles with some other big names in the business.Brad Neilson’s Brisbane bayside real estate business, RE/MAX Bayside Properties, has had nine consecutive years as RE/MAX Australia’s number one office.

His experience is phenomenal and hard to match in this industry; and someone of his calibre can only enhance our success,” said Mr Neilson.Mr Croft had more than a decade in Brisbane-based corporate and transactional levels before he moved to Sydney, when an opportunity arose with BresicWhitney to take a semi-corporate role with strategic functionality in a bigger market.

“This was a leadership role with a premium residential real estate firm in the greater Sydney market, which allowed me to grow professionally.”

Auctioneering has always played a significant part in Mr Croft’s career, from building a company’s auction business to personal achievements. He was a 2013 and 2014 NSW Auctioneer of the Year, an REINSW auctioneering judge, an Australasian Auction Championship finalist many times, and, most recently, the 2018/19 REIQ Auctioneer of the year.

He moved to New Zealand in February this year as Chief Operating Officer for Ray White New Zealand.

“The idea was to move my young family over after a short while but with the advent of COVID, travel was out of the question. My family were happily settled in Brisbane’s Redlands, with the children attending Sheldon College, and I wasn’t prepared to live away from them for an unknown period.”

He walked away from the New Zealand position and took a couple of months off.

“I’d made a decision to become part of the most successful business in the Redland region.

“This is the absolute truth: I told my wife I wanted to join the best business in the region and an hour later Brad Neilson rang.”

Mr Croft says the newly created role will see him take RE/MAX Bayside Properties to the next level.

“Brad has built ‘super teams’ in an incredibly strong and powerful real estate business.  As sales director, I focus on what agents need now plus the benefits of the value piece we can offer to grow our agents, providing career paths and the highest levels of support for them at every stage.

“Each agent will also have the opportunity to develop their auction skill set to a professional level,” he said.

“We are a strong RE/MAX team that is now set for greater success with the huge advantage of Gavin as Sales Director,” added Mr Neilson.
