Now residing on the Glitter Strip, Gold Coast based luxury agent and auctioneer Michael Vettoretto is a long way from the vineyards of his Italian heritage.
Michael Vettoretto, Senior Sales Executive and Auctioneer at Queensland Sotheby's Realty, spoke to WILLIAMS MEDIA about the most interesting property he's ever sold, his outlook for the Gold Coast market and his dream home.
How did you start out in real estate? Have you always worked in the industry, or did you do something else previously?
I commenced my career in 1989 in Townsville after being an integral part of in the set up of operations for indoor cricket centres in North Queensland.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the opportunity to assist both buyers and sellers realise their real estate goals. ‘We don’t sell property, We unite people with the lifestyle they envisage for themselves’.
Can you tell us about an interesting property you’ve sold?
Sale to “The Candyman” - 36 River Cove Place Helensvale – Price $3,750,000.
See the stunning vineyard recently put up for sale by Michael.
What’s your advice to a young person starting out in real estate?
Commit to the industry, this is not a job – this is a career. Bring your energy & enthusiasm and always bring your integrity.
If you could change one thing about the real estate industry, what would it be?
As a passionate auctioneer I would love to see the words on all marketing mediums ‘Unless sold prior’ removed. Buyers are aware that property can be bought before auction – it just seems un-necessary to me.
What’s your outlook for the Gold Coast market for the next 12-18 months?
After the Easter period and the Commonwealth Games we are seeing an increase in property enquiries which should continue due to strong confidence in the marketplace backed by the amazing infrastructure that the games have provided – making the Gold Coast even more desirable to interstate migration.
Where do you live now, and what would be your dream home if you could live anywhere in the world?
I live in a fantastic apartment in Surfers Paradise with the most amazing ocean and mountain views that seem to stretch on forever. If I could live anywhere else, given that I am Italian – it would have to be a gorgeous Villa in Portofino, Italy.
