Celine Dion has almost halved the asking price for her extraordinary oceanfront Florida property to US$38.5 million (AU$51 million), in a sale through Sotheby's International Realty.
Celine Dion has nearly halved the asking price for her extraordinarily luxurious Jupiter Island property, but it still remains a dream for most of us.
The property has been on the market since 2013, when it first listed for US$72 million (nearly AU$100 million). When Dion's husband, Rene Angelil, died last year, she lowered the price to US$45.5 million (AU$60 million).
The new asking price is below the cost of creating the home, according to Joseph Montanaro of Sotheby’s International Realty Quebec, the agency marketing the property.
Dion and Angelil developed the property in 2010, after buying one block of land in 2005 and then buying the adjacent block in 2008. The 10,000 square foot house sits on 5.5 oceanfront acres. Special features include a waterpark, automated clothing and shoe racks, a tree house, a tennis court, guest house, and three pools.
The home is being sold because, amazingly, it is not being used. Dion lives in Las Vegas.
The agent is Cristina Condon of Sotheby’s International Realty, in conjunction with referring agents Todd Peter and Frances Peter of Sotheby’s International Realty Quebec.
