The close of 2024 signals just the start of the leading real estate network’s big ambitions and growth plans for 2025 says Adam Burke, Richardson & Wrench National Head of Growth.
It’s been a year of tenure, recognition and milestones for the Richardson & Wrench brand, the close of 2024 signals just the start of the leading real estate network’s big ambitions and growth plans for 2025.
The past year has marked a number of milestones for the 166-year-old Richardson & Wrench brand which counts more than 70 franchises across New South Wales and Queensland.
In just 12 months, R&W has been thrilled to expand or renew the tenure of 12 of their offices, celebrate four dynamic female agents as top 10 finalists for our Most Outstanding Salesperson by Income award, and see several expansion and succession plans come to fruition as new principals take the reins at multiple offices.
Adam Burke also joined Richardson & Wrench in 2024 as the new National Head of Growth and has hit the ground running with plans to grow with great people and take the brand into the next generation and beyond.
“Professionally, I’ve been successfully building attraction businesses across Australia and New Zealand for the last 10 years. Now I’m looking forward to using my experience to replicate that work and apply it to the R&W brand and our wider network,” Adam says.
“For me personally, R&W has always been a household name in real estate. In my younger years, I remember driving through New South Head Road and seeing the Double Bay office with the R&W colours in every suburb. It’s now time to expand on our presence and take the brand to the next level.” he says.
“I’m excited about the plans we have for the future; supporting our people and expanding our reach into new marketplaces. We’re primed for growth and aim to significantly invest in technology training and marketing to upskill our agents and business owners so they can be the best of the best.”
Adam adds that R&W is home to a long list of exceptional agents who have been kicking goals in real estate throughout their long careers.
“We have so many talented and high performing people across the group. There are some agents and principals that have literally been with us for decades and have really shaped the business from within. Then we have relative newcomers who have shown their star power from day one,” he says.
“Victoria Liu is one of those trailblazers. Victoria came on board with us this year and she's become a Top 5 Agent across the whole network in just six months. We have successfully built a team of four around her and she’s absolutely smashing it from our North Sydney office.”
Although R&W has been a fixture in the real estate industry for more than one and a half centuries, the ever-growing network has two innovative franchise models that puts their business owners first. It’s set up so our business owners are able to reinvest their profits back into the growth of their businesses and essentially take more profit home.
“We have a traditional franchise model, but what is unique about our business is that our franchise owners only pay a modest flat fee. Ultimately, it’s keeping the revenue with them, rather than giving big chunks to a brand,” Adam explains.
Alternatively, Adam adds that the R&W Bespoke model is well-suited to individual real estate agents wanting to make the step into business ownership and secure a much higher commission share with a streamlined, flexible and tailor-made approach to their business.
“This is ideal for agents who might not be in the position to open a shopfront office with all of the risks, overheads and costs that go with a traditional business, but still want the full support of a trusted network like R&W.
We essentially handle all the business services, administration and compliance for the business and give them access to our cutting-edge marketing and administration services so they can focus on what they do best; obtaining listings, holding open homes and selling property.”
