Members of the REIT gathered over the weekend to celebrate an unprecedented year in real estate.
Saturday night saw the REIT recognise the outstanding achievement of the Real Estate Industry by announcing their 2020 Awards for Excellence winners at the annual awards dinner held at the Silo’s Hotel in Launceston.
REIT president, Mandy Welling wanted to congratulate all the nominees and winners and thank sponsors and members for their participation.

" It was so very important to acknowledge the "Year that was" and we were very grateful to be able to host an awards night this year," said Ms Welling.
"Earlier in the year we were making preparations for an awards evening entirely hosted via Zoom.
"Either way, we were always going to recognise those who performed exceptionally well this year.
"The overwhelming support for the awards was a testament to the resilience of the industry."

Ms Welling said, in order to adhere to the current COVID-19 restrictions they held a cocktail-style event instead of the usual format.
"However we integrated with Zoom so colleagues of those attending could be involved," said Ms Welling.
"2020 has presented unique challenges for the industry.

"It's changed a lot of the way real estate agents perform their jobs.
"The guidelines changed for everyone, but particularly for those in the North-West after their outbreak, they were impacted the most.
"It's so important that we honour the year that has been, albeit a little unique."
This year The Real Estate Conversation, WILLIAMS MEDIA'S residential news website sponsored a number of categories including Residential Sales Team of the Year.
Rick Fleming of Sims for Property was on hand to accept the award and WILLIAMS MEDIA spoke to Richard Sims.
"We were obviously very keen to put across all of our teams' hard work over the past 12 months especially during the pandemic and restrictions everyone was faced with," said Mr Sims.
"Sales for us were up on last year and we won this award last year so we were excited to try and get it back to back."
Mr Sims said the fallout from COVID-19 has been a big challenge.
"For us here in Tasmania we are experiencing the hottest market we have had for a while- the major problem we are faced with is our stock levels across the board are low," said Mr Sims.
"A lot of people still don’t want to list their homes due to the uncertainty and future of the economy, but we still have multiple buyers missing out on nearly every home that comes to the market.
"Our office is seeing multiple offers on every home and its not unusual to get 10+ written offers with the homes eventually selling for $40,000+ over marketing price.
"There are a lot of disappointed buyers out there at the moment and no stock to show them."
Mr Sims said the highlight for the year was receiving the REIT award.
"Its been a tough/strange year for a lot of reasons," said Mr Sims.
"This (award) to us instills that we are doing the best and being the best and our clients can be sure that when they chose to sell with our team they will receive our amazing service."
Below is a list of the winners for each category.
The REIT Board and staff congratulate the winners in what has been a year to remember.
