Dion Markovics, sales executive at Raine and Horne Double Bay and Madi Roche from Ray White East Brisbane are two real estate industry success stories under the age of 30.
It can be difficult for a real estate agent at the age of 20 to be taken seriously trying to sell a million dollar home when they don’t own a house themselves, let alone are still living with the parents.
However it certainly is possible and many young members of the industry are proving age isn’t a barrier to huge success.
Dion Markovics, sales executive at Raine and Horne Double Bay told WILLIAMS MEDIA he sold his most lucrative property to date two years ago at the tender age of 23 for a whopping $11.5 million.
He has been in the industry for only six years and won Rookie of the Year at Raine and Horne at 19, and has been inducted into the chairman’s club.

“You should never let age be a barrier to success, and should focus on skills instead. Gain a strong enough skill set and you will be taken seriously,” he said.
Mr Markovics said it can be hard in the industry when you are starting if you can’t show the value that you will bring to the table.
“In the earlier years I was young and naive but once clients saw what I could bring to the table it wasn’t a problem for me. I’ve been hungrier than the rest!”
Mr Markovics now sells in Darlinghurst, Double Bay and surrounding suburbs, and recently sold a stunning home in Vaucluse which can be seen on the Luxury List.

Another young success story is 27 year old Madi Roche from Ray White East Brisbane, who has been in the industry for nine years and sold her most valuable property for $2.25 million at 25 years.
Ms Roche told WILLIAMS MEDIA she attributes her career success to extreme dedication, putting work over social life at times and being prepared to put in the extra hours.
“Lots of people underestimate how many hours you need to put in. You must be 100 per cent committed.”
“Age works against you when you are young but I combat that by knowing the marketplace inside and out so I can handle anything thrown at me.”
“It’s always harder with upper end clients. If you team up with an experienced agent and learn from them you can get ahead quicker.”

Ms Roche has worked with buyers whose children have been older than herself, but says this was only intimidating for the first 12 months.
“You need to understand and not hold it against them, and be willing to prove yourself. Once you get a name for yourself it becomes a lot easier."
Ms Roche has won many awards but the standout is the Auction Excellence award for Ray White South of the River which she was nominated for and won in 2016.
