Briannan Davis will bring the number of McGrath exclusive auctioneers to 53 and will cover the company's footprint across the Northern Beaches from Manly to Pittwater.
McGrath Estate Agents has expanded its stable of auctioneers to include the sought-after talent of Briannan Davis bringing the number of auctioneers exclusive to McGrath to 53.
Chief Auctioneer of McGrath Estate Agents, Scott Kennedy-Green, says Ms Davis will cover McGrath’s footprint across the Northern Beaches from Manly to Pittwater.
“We are extremely excited to have Briannan join our exclusive auctioneering team,” says Mr Kennedy-Green. “She brings nearly a decade of experience and a reputation that has cast her as one of Sydney’s most sought-after auctioneering professionals.”
A long-time resident of the Northern Beaches, Ms Davis is happy to be based in her home territory although her experience has seen her auctioning property across Sydney.
One of her first engagements with McGrath is to reinforce McGrath West Group’s Super Saturday auction event on January 28 when 74 properties will go under the hammer.
Following a degree in Media and Communications at the University of New South Wales, Ms Davis made an early start in the real estate industry where she was encouraged to pursue her natural talent of conducting property auctions.
“I’ve always felt comfortable in public speaking roles and this combined well with my knowledge and passion for real estate,” she says.
In 2012 Ms Davis entered the Real Estate Institute’s Novice Auctioneer competition. “I won the Northern Beaches heat and went on to compete at the State Final,” recalls Ms Davis.
“In 2017, I competed in the REINSW Seniors’ competition and became the first female to make the final. I was a finalist again in 2020 and from there, I didn’t look back,” she says.
Ms Davis has since been selected as a judge for several auctioneer competitions.
In a male-dominated industry, Ms Davis’ talent and expertise stand out. “I had voice training at a young age and have continued to expand on my education in the real estate industry,” she says
“I keep a close eye on the property market monitoring movement and changes in data, statistics and sentiment,” she adds. “It’s vital to have up-to-date knowledge for both sellers and buyers.”
Ms Davis also cites the rapport between auctioneer and agent and auctioneer and vendor as crucial to a successful outcome.
“It’s really important for an auctioneer and agent to know how each other works and to be comfortable with each other.
That rapport helps create a seamless process during the auction procedure,” she says. “I consider all the agents I’ve worked with as friends.”
According to Ms Davis, the auctioneer plays a key role between the agent and the vendor.
“Having a third-party opinion on what’s happening in the marketplace and backing up the agent, helps in the transaction,” she says.
Ms Davis is naturally a great supporter of the auction method of selling real estate.
“It suits almost all residential properties,” she believes. “Auctioning is a great way of removing a ceiling on the price and the length of a campaign, with a definitive auction date creating a sense of urgency and a quicker and better result for the vendor.”
The embedded values of McGrath Estate Agents attracted Ms Davis to the company’s auction team.
“I identify with the philosophy and values of the company,” she says. “McGrath is also a very well-regarded national brand with a lot of room for growth. It’s great to be part of Scott Kennedy-Green’s team who have great respect with our peers.”
