Kay & Burton will relocate to a state-of-the-art Toorak headquarters within Vicland's St Germain development early 2023
Kay & Burton has called South Yarra home since its inception in 1938 and the move sees a commitment to a long-term lease that will mark the company's next evolution and solidify its position as the pre-eminent luxury real estate agency in Melbourne.
Occupying the top two floors of the eight-storey Hassell-designed building, with interiors by acclaimed architects Powell & Glenn, the new headquarters will set a benchmark within the real estate industry. The floorplan spans more than 2000sqm of internal space and 350sqm of external terraces.
Kay & Burton Managing Director Ross Savas said the one-of-a-kind luxurious office tower was a workplace of the future and made an important contribution to the progression of the business.
"We are passionate about providing world-class facilities for our team members and clients to enjoy," Mr Savas said
"The building is a space to inspire, motivate and collaborate. We wanted our new home to benefit our team just as much as it does the business and I think together with Vicland, Hassell and Powell & Glenn we have achieved that.
"Our new headquarters were designed to enhance connectivity between Kay & Burton's network of eight offices and offer an environment focused on community, amenity, health and wellbeing.
Mr Savas said exceptional end-of-trip facilities, open-air spaces, as well as collaborative zones, private meeting rooms, world-class entertaining spaces, and an incredible shared rooftop for Kay & Burton events, were just some of the highlights of the innovative design.
"We are thrilled to have such an extraordinary place to bring people together," he said.
The brief from Kay & Burton to leading Australian architecture firm Powell & Glenn was to create a space that made people feel like they were entering a luxury international residence, akin to the beautiful homes the agency is renowned for representing.
"By using a natural palette, handmade objects, lots of texture, fabric and working closely with artists and makers we were able to give the space a warm and inviting energy," Powell & Glenn Director Ed Glenn said
"As everyone returns to the office, we really wanted to capitalise on the energy that engagement brings to our lives. Internal streets move through a village of spaces where there are quiet places for private work and consultation, while the more lively and bustling spaces were designed so people can work in collaboration with colleagues, clients and associates."
