This year, as well as being the Principal Sponsor of Ascot State School, Place Ascot has made a commitment to run a series of quarterly Auction Events as a morning/night out for friends and clients of Place Ascot while also achieving the best possible outcome for their vendors through the Auction process. 

The Autumn and Winter events conducted at the Queensland Maritime Museum were extremely successful with a 95% clearance rate; above the Queensland average. 

Patrick Mckinnon, Co Principal of Place Ascot spoke to WILLIAMS MEDIA about the event, "As you know the real estate market is hot, so more than ever we want to support the community that supports us! Across the Place group in August, 101 out of 106 Auctions sold with a 95% clearance rate and an average of 8 bidders per auction."

The events are designed to give back to the community with extra exposure and an injection of funds for businesses and communities like the Arts, that have suffered throughout the pandemic. 

Place Ascot will be holding its Spring Auction Event at Revival Art & Design Gallery in Albion on Wednesday 8th September.

Revival Art & Design Gallery relocated to Albion just as Covid hit, so the pandemic has had an enormous effect on gallery owner and award-winning Australian artist, Mark Gawne and his partner Pauline, as well as the artists they represent, as the gallery had always been quite reliant on foot traffic. 

Mark and Pauline have found the neighbourhood friendly and welcoming and the collaborations they have made with surrounding businesses has meant they have been able to welcome a whole new group of regular visitors. 

Place Ascot and Revival Gallery met through Domayne Home Styling during a sales campaign when three artists from the gallery agreed to have their work showcased in a Hamilton home that was being marketed by Place Ascot.

With Revival being a friend of Place Ascot and a business in their community Place Ascot decided the gallery would be a great location to hold their Spring Auction Event.

With seven properties going under the hammer it will be a busy night for Place Chief Auctioneer, Peter Burgin.

One of the homes scheduled for auction is the Art Deco masterpiece, 'Malouf House', built by the father of Australian author David Malouf, at 19 Arran Avenue Hamilton marketed by Place Ascot Co-Principal, Drew Davies.

Other properties marketed by Drew Davies include a timeless Queenslander with views of Moreton Bay at 43 Creswick Street Clayfield and also in Clayfield, 99 Adelaide Street East.

There is a Hamptons-inspired home at 36 Pleystowe Crescent Hendra and a three bedroom character home at 69 Upper Lancaster Road Ascot, for sale by Patrick Mckinnon as well as a Queenslander at 7 Goldsworthy Avenue Hamilton and a four bedroom home at 4 Duff Street Wavell Heights both marketed by Nicholas Loftus of Place Ascot.

Proudly sponsored by Homely, Place Ascot will also be auctioning selected artwork on the night including pieces from Mark Gawne and Gold Coast artist, Llewellyn Skye who will be holding her solo exhibition 'This is a Love Story'.

Mark is recognised for his highly colourful artworks. Previously represented by Shubert's on the Gold Coast and LIbby Edwards in Sydney and Melbourne his works have been sold around the world and have featured in many style magazines and television productions.

Llewellyn has exhibited her work in several galleries in Sydney and Melbourne and been featured in 'House Rules', a prestigious interior design magazine and in one of the room reveals on a recent series of 'The Block'.

Ever the champion of local business and charities, Patrick Mckinnon told WILLIAMS MEDIA he will soon don boxing gloves to raise funds and enter the ring for animal welfare.  

"In the same spirit, I am in training for a charity boxing event, 'Fight for a Cause', on 25th September to raise awareness of the incredible work of the RSPCA". he said.
