Place Estate Agents has announced the opening of a new office in Gumdale, on Brisbane’s southside, to be headed up by Bulimba lead agent Glenn Bool.

Place CEO Damian Hackett told WILLIAMS MEDIA the new office fills the gap between Place’s high performing offices in Bulimba and Manly. 

“Gumdale and the surrounding areas are a stunning part of Brisbane, experiencing high levels of growth. Gumdale has great affiliation with the Place brand and ethos. We have a high performing team who are looking forward to building on existing strong relationships and growing to be the agent of choice for the area.”

WILLIAMS MEDIA spoke to Glenn about the launch.

You have been based at Place Bulimba, what was the motivation to open your own office?

It’s just been a natural progression for me, I personally get a lot of satisfaction out of coaching/mentoring people. Watching them grow is a big driver for me.

Why Place?

There is no 'Place' I’d rather be, it’s locally owned and operated by a group of outstanding people and it’s truly a wonderful experience to be a part of it all. The company has a genuine local flavour, along with outstanding marketing, a strong brand and community engagement, so it was never an option to open up with any other brand.

Have you always wanted to open your own office or was there an ‘Aha moment'?

To be honest, the ‘Aha’ moment has been many years in the making, though there is no doubt that Covid lockdowns were the catalyst for my thinking. I had a concept in mind, presented it to the board at Place, and they were all 100% supportive and genuinely excited.

What opportunities do you see being based in Gumdale?

Gumdale and the surrounding suburbs that we will service make for some of the best living you will find in Brisbane. The area is located essentially half way between the CBD and Moreton Bay, and has some of Brisbane’s best schools, shopping and transport at its door. We are finding the market is just starting to recognise the lifestyle on offer here, and the value is outstanding. As a local Brisbane owned and operated business, we feel that our message and integrity will resonate well with the community in general.

What were the challenges in opening a new office?

The biggest challenge was identifying exactly where our office should be based. We all agreed that East Side Village was where we needed to be to enable us to service the area effectively. As fate would have it, just a few months into our initial planning stage, an opportunity became available and we took it with both hands.
