Regional lifestyle areas have become the focus for McGrath Estate Agents as a new office in Mansfield, Victoria is opened.
Leading residential real estate group, McGrath Estate Agents, today announced the opening of a new office in Mansfield Victoria, further cementing the company’s strategy to extend its presence into new key regional lifestyle areas on the East Coast of Australia.
This follows its move into Albury/Wodonga just last month.
Founder John McGrath has reinforced his view that regional areas in close proximity to large towns and cities will be particularly desirable as people reassess their lifestyle options in the future.
“I believe the ability to work remotely and commute as needed is now a more acceptable part our everyday life and will no doubt impact property choices for many outside the traditional FIFO worker," said Mr McGrath.
"We have long earmarked the growth of regional areas that are attractive for their lifestyle and affordability and anticipate a further migration trend post COVID-19.”
Mansfield Shire, situated in North East Victoria, is in close proximity to Melbourne and other regional centres (Shepparton, Wangaratta and Benalla) and easily accessed – 2.5 hours and 1 hour respectively.
It is equally close to the Albury airport with a 2-hour drive that offers accessibility for both the modern commuter or tourist, attracted to its nearby lakes, national parks and ski fields.
Christopher Mourd, Head of Franchise Network for McGrath Estate Agents agrees it is an important overall strategy.
"(It is our) desire to service our clients effectively as they often make a migrational shift around future lifestyle and property choices," said Mr Mourd.
“This entire region offers outstanding and diverse lifestyle options and is a very desirable market for Melburnians, particularly young families or retirees.
"Located at the foot of Mount Buller and the very picturesque High Country, it transforms into a winter playground for Victorians, but equally is popular with tree changers and holidaymakers alike who are in search of summer holiday pursuits and recreational activities such a water skiing in Lake Eildon, horse riding or fishing.”
McGrath Mansfield will service a large area from Swanpool in the North, to Eildon in the South, Merton in the West to Mount Buller in the East.
Key suburbs will include Mansfield, Jamieson, Barjarg, Piries, Merrijig, Tolmie and Ancona.
McGrath Mansfield will be led Kate McDougall and Allana Neely who were formally Property Partners at The Agency Victoria.
“Partnering with McGrath was an obvious choice for our team, we love the brand and culture, and its boutique feel was important as we wanted to align ourselves with an authentic more personalised business model and wider network. We felt that would be an important asset for our clients going forward," said Ms McDougall.
The Mansfield Property Market
“We are currently experiencing a significant increase in buyer inquiry from out of area," said Ms McDougall.
"Buyers are increasingly are working from home, spending less time in their offices and in particular wanting lifestyle properties and weekenders as a retreat.
“We are seeing an extreme spike of enquiry which has only grown during and post COVID-19 with a high percentage of people who indicate they will continue to work remotely.”
