State and Territory Real Estate Institutes and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand have completed their auctioneering competitions, with representatives progressing to Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AAC) scheduled to be held at Federation Square in Melbourne later this month.
The best auctioneers from Australia and New Zealand will line up at Federation Square this month for the Australiasian Auctioneering Championships.
The Real Estate Institute of Victoria and the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania will be co-hosting the event, which will begin with heats on Wednesday, October 23, and conclude with finals the following day.
The winner will be announced at the REIV Awards for Excellence dinner to be held at Crown Towers, Southbank on Thursday evening, 24 October 2019.
First held in 1991 between the Real Estate Institutes of Tasmania and Victoria, the concept for the competition was subsequently adopted by all the State/Territory REIs and REINZ to become the most prestigious event on the Australasian auctioneering calendar.

Real Estate Insititute of Australia President Adrian Kelly encouraged members of the public to come and be part of the spectacle.
“The championships are open to the public and people will not be disappointed by the skill, professionalism and technical knowledge displayed by all the contestants,” he said.
“Andrew North of New Zealand took home the title last year however Australia will provide some stiff competition this year.
“We are expecting another hard-fought battle between Australia and New Zealand to ascertain who will be crowned Australasia’s best auctioneer.
