Buxton Hampton East celebrates 20 years
Buxton Hampton East have celebrated 20 years in a milestone anniversary, as the company gets set for further expansion.

After beginning in 1998 with just a handful of staff, including a property manager doubling as advertising manager and receptionist, Director Adam Gillon has watched Buxton Hampton East expand as fast as the surrounding suburbs.
He says the original plan was to make it to a team of eight, however, as demand in the suburbs of Hampton East, Highett and Moorabbin grew, so did the business.
“We have one of the largest property portfolios within Buxton, and this has been thanks to the hardworking staff, who over the past 20 years, have provided the area with an unrivalled level of customer service," Mr Gillon said.
“In our core area we have 50 per cent of the market share, that means vendors choose us four to five times more often than our competitors). They do this because we offer consistent results, trusted agents and a hassle-free selling experience.
“Our agents are incredible at being able to maintain strong networks over extended periods of time, while also adapting to the market ebbs and flows. That’s what makes us the area’s most regularly recommended real estate agency."
Mr Gillon says the local Hampton East property market has grown up.
“In 1998 it was just $200,000 compared to the $1.266 million some properties are receiving now. The area used to be a sleepy hollow, but in the past decade, the giant has certainly been woken.
“When part of Moorabbin was rezoned into Hampton East, this lifted the suburb’s profile quite rapidly. There has certainly been gentrification in the area with lots of families and young couples having moved from the inner city, creating demand for new restaurants, bars and cafes,” said Gillon.
Mr Gillon told WILLIAMS MEDIA he hopes the next twenty years has lots to offer, as the area is constantly changing.
“I look out the office window and there are 10-storey buildings going up, there is plenty of townhouse development, and more apartments than ever, so with this changing landscape we expect our business to naturally increase.
“For our team specifically, we’re always looking for growth and to ensure we’re adapting to change. I spent the first 18 years as a sole operator, now with new directors, this brings new energy, we’re taking Buxton Hampton East to the next level,” Mr Gillon said.
