The Brisbane market is beginning to take on a more sophisticated approach to its auction culture, according to Gavin Croft.
Mr Croft told WILLIAMS MEDIA he will be heading up the development of the auction culture and understanding and execution of auctions, rather than calling auctions.
"First and foremost, I will lead the auction division to train and develop the group of auctioneers and also work very closely with the agents to ensure they understand their role and responsibilities, when they're executing auctions.
"Given my move to Brisbane, its a really nice fit because I was looking for someone to partner with in the Brisbane marketplace.
"The inner city and CBD is starting to become a bit more sophisticated with their auction culture so I think the guys see a real need to develop their auction execution, hence why I've taken on the role," he said.
Mr Croft has accumulated a wealth of experience, with 17 years of real estate experience under his belt. He has conducted more than 7,000 auctions across Australia and New Zealand as both a licensed sales agent and/or auctioneer.
Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty CEO Paul Arthur said Mr Croft will strengthen the synergy between the company’s auctioneers and agents.
“We offer a complete package of real estate services, including delivering premium auction events for our clients,” Mr Arthur said.
“Mr Croft is widely recognized for his devotion to his craft, winning multiple auctioneering awards and gaining the admiration of a competitive industry.
“He will be a great asset to our auction teams, who already consistently deliver extraordinary results under the hammer," he said.
Two-time New South Wales Auctioneer of the Year, Mr Croft said it was a privilege to assist a commanding global brand in the representation of the most unique and distinguished properties.
“I know how well the Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty brand performs and the quality of the work they do,” Mr Croft said.
“We’re starting to see a rise in the sophistication of Brisbane’s auction culture and I think there’s a real demand for both auctioneers and agents to understand how to execute a high-performance auction.
“Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty is widely recognized for delivering a premium level of service, my role is to make sure the standard across auctions is of the best possible quality.
“This comes back to both agent and auctioneer understanding their roles and responsibilities.”
Now based in Brisbane, Mr Croft has an auction clearance rate among the highest in the industry and is aligned with major real estate brands across Australia and New Zealand.
