The REIV has organised a special information session in the wake of the combustible cladding crisis.
In the aftermath of the Lacrosse fire in Melbourne and the Grenfell fire in London - both of which attributed to combustible cladding, the REIV has organised a special information session to explore the issues confronting real estate professionals, property owners and tenants.
The session will provide essential background to the size, scope and causes of the crisis in Australia and internationally and answer critical questions being asked by real estate professionals and wider stakeholders in Victoria.
Some of these questions include:
• What is the international cladding problem and when and how did it start?
• What has caused the problem in Australia?
• What does the law in Australia allow and how big is the compliance problem?
• How will these buildings be rectified?
• Who will pay to fix these buildings?
• What have insurers done about the issue?
Stephen Kip, Director of SKIP Consulting will be presenting the event.
The event will be held at the REIV Conference Hall at 335 Camberwell Road, Camberwell, Victoria on the 17th May beginning at 4pm.
For more information and to book visit the REIV website.
