Take a look inside Joan Rivers' $28 million Versailles-themed apartment.
“It’s what Marie Antoinette would have done if she had money,” joked Joan Rivers of the decor at her apartment on East 62nd Street in New York’s Upper East Side neighbourhood. The 11-room property has been listed for $28 million after the actress and comedienne died last September at the age of 81. It features four bedrooms, four bathrooms and its own Louis XIV-inspired ballroom. The sale is being handled by Leighton Candler at Corcoran estate agents, who state on their website that this is the first time in 25 years that one of New York's most legendary apartments is changing ownership. It describes the apartment as a "triplex residence is in a fully staffed limestone mansion, originally built at the turn of the century as one of the opulent mansions of the Gilded Age.”
