McGrath Paddington’s Alex Jordan has sold 10 properties in five days totalling more than $26 million including several unconditional cash contracts and three sought-after trophy properties.
“Most of our sales in the current market are cash unconditional contracts with many properties selling before the first open house.” said Alex Jordan of McGrath Paddington.
Topping the list was the long-held home of Clive and Nita Hildebrand at 171-175 Laurel Avenue, Chelmer which sold for $6.35 million.
The Hildebrands raised their family in the exceptional riverfront property. Spanning 3379 square metres, the site is divided into three lots with the charming five-bedroom weatherboard house sitting on the street-front lot of 1845 square metres. A rolling lawn to the riverfront with a private jetty is divided into two large lots.
The Hildebrands were keen for another family to benefit from their much-loved home.
The buyers, a young family originally from the UK, will renovate the weatherboard house and retain the two blocks for the future use of their children. They may add a tennis court in time.
Alex's second sale on the weekend was 525 Jesmond Road, Fig Tree Pocket.

The third property, a Mid-Century house at 92 Orchard Terrace, St Lucia sold for $1.95 million.
A local buyer bought the Ferrier Baudet Architects’ updated house for its position in the school catchment for Ironside State School and St Peters Lutheran College.
Alex said the Brisbane property market is experiencing unprecedented demand from interstate and expat buyers.
“These buyers have much bigger budgets and are outbidding local buyers particularly at the higher end of the market,” he said. “The shortage of supply in Brisbane is only adding more strength to values as property owners are gaining about 2.5 per cent a month in capital growth,” he added.
