Clarence White of Menck White Auctioneers secured the REINSW Award for Excellence in Auctioneering for a 4th time at the recent REINSW Awards for Excellence.
Clarence White of Menck White Auctioneers secured the REINSW Award for Excellence in Auctioneering for a 4th time at the recent REINSW Awards for Excellence Gala by winning the NSW Senior Auctioneering Competition once again in 2020.
Clarence stands alone as the only auctioneer to win the REINSW Award for Excellence in Auctioneering on four occasions, and (we believe) moves alongside John McGrath as the only auctioneers to secure 4 NSW state titles since competition auctioneering for real estate began in 1993 (though records pre-1999 and pre-Awards for Excellence era have proved hard to come by!)
After wins in 2014, 2017 and 2018, Clarence secured the title again edging out fellow finalists Leon Axford, Briannan Davis and Jake Downs. 18 competitors participated in the heats on day 1, with 4 auctioneers progressing to the final on day 2. The REINSW Award for Excellence in Auctioneering is adjudicated based on a live auction competition that is peer-judged by prominent leading auctioneers and real estate professionals. This year’s judging panel included Thomas McGlynn (chief judge), Peter Matthews, Jesse Davidson and buyers agent Jaque Parker.

“I’m humbled and honoured to receive this award again. It’s a gratifying reward for the countless hours, days, weeks, months and years of training and hard work.”
“When my business partner Paul Menck and I joined forces, we wanted to create a brand that is synonymous with high quality auctioneering. We wanted to move away from tired old auctioneering cliches and become known for our fresh, sophisticated language and a skilful, stylish, modern auction day experience. The live auction competition is a key vehicle for us in pursuit of that goal as it gives us the motivation and a forum into which we can channel our focus on perpetual refinement of our craft. My crew and I are out in the park every week stretching and encouraging each other with difficult bidding and challenges. We train for the comp, but the net result is we are always match fit, razor sharp and ready for anything the auction floor may throw at us out in the field. And that is the great benefit in our business.”

Clarence is also a two-time top 5 finalist at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships and notably the runner up in 2017. After 4 years calling auctions for McGrath and a further 2 years for Bresic Whitney, Clarence established his own auctioneering business in 2018. In 2019 Clarence opened his own in-room auction venue in Double Bay, known as Sydney Auction Rooms. And in 2020 Clarence joined forces with
auctioneer Paul Menck to form Menck White Auctioneers.
Menck White Auctioneers offer a premium quality auctioneering service for discerning clients across Sydney’s prestige marketplaces for both residential and commercial property auctions, conducted on-site and in-rooms.
