Joseph Lordi of Queensland Sotheby's International Realty discusses the property market in Jollys Lookout, and a home he has for sale designed by Dion Seminara Architecture.
Jollys Lookout in Queensland is only a half hour drive from Brisbane City but feels like an entirely different world - a serene, relaxing oasis.
Joseph Lordi of Queensland Sotheby's International Realty - Brisbane Ascot spoke to WILLIAMS MEDIA about the area, which only has two properties for sale at the moment.
“Because Jollys Lookout is a relatively small suburb with only a handful of homes we leverage off bigger neighbouring markets such as Samford and Samford Valley.
Mr Lordi is currently selling a property which has had interstate interest from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and international interest from New Zealand.
The home, designed in 2000 and built in 2002, is booked in for auction on October 20.

Mr Lordi said Queensland Sotheby's International Realty is doing a strong social media campaign to promote the home.
“The house is 897m2 on just over 26 hectares of land. It is an exclusive, private estate.
“It was designed with an Asian influence and has 140 year old teak timber floors.
“The ensuite bathroom won Australian bathroom of the year, at the Australian Kitchen and Bathroom Awards.”

Dion Seminara of Dion Seminara Architecture shaped the whole concept, and worked on the interior space planning and building.
Mr Seminara told WILLIAMS MEDIA the original owner had a love of Thai and Japanese architecture.
“He wanted a Japanese influence in the internal spaces as well as the house built around the courtyard.
“The design philosophy is built on a spur in a mountain.
“We positioned the home so it has perfect views over Samford valley in the main wing."
Mr Seminara said the home is a mixture of residential and commercial style of construction, with a lot of precast, large, dark concrete columns.

The Asian influence came from a mixture of aluminium and timber framed windows, and off-form concrete in its natural state, and the garden softened it.
The original owner specifically wanted a 20m long and 3.2m deep swimming pool, lots of garaging, and a nice office space with lots of air flow.
“This is a dramatic house perched on the hill looking over the valley.
“If you come up Mount Nebo Road it’s very significant and it blends into the landscape due to its dark colour.
Mr Seminara said one of the core features was to make sure it was private from the street.
“That is why the bedroom wing blocks vision into the living areas from the street.
“From the street you are looking down onto the home, and you can’t see the courtyard or into the living areas.”
