Queensland Sotheby's International Realty are set to auction several luxurious Tropical North Queensland properties in Sydney's exclusive Double Bay.
"If the mountain will not come to Mohammad, then Mohammad must go to the mountain."
That's what Owner and CEO of Queensland Sotheby's International Realty, Paul Arthur said when asked why the agency had decided to host an auction event featuring luxury tropical North Queensland properties in the upper echelons of Sydney's Double Bay.
"Buyers who are looking for properties at this level in tropical North Queensland are typically from Sydney and Melbourne, so we decided to bundle a number of luxury properties and bring them to those interested in one night," Mr Arthur told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
Agent with Queensland Sotheby's International Realty, Barbara Wolveridge, who has several properties being auctioned on the night, told WILLIAMS MEDIA it makes sense to hold the auction in Sydney.
"The demand for pretty much all of our high end properties is coming from interstate buyers, so it just makes sense to hold the auction there. So far, we have had lots of interest in these properties," Ms Wolveridge said.
"With an auction like this, it brings everything to a head. There is an end date, which you normally don't have.
"Someone might see a property, but they don't really rush to secure it, because they think "oh it'll still be there when I'm ready'. But with an auction like this, people realise they only have a few weeks to secure that property," Ms Wolveridge continued.

Director of Queensland Sotheby's International Realty, Deanne Arthur tells WILLIAMS MEDIA "We hosted a similar but smaller event in 2017 and it was a great success resulting in the sale of a magnificent high-end property from Port Douglas. We are fortunate to have the support of our wonderful team at Sydney Sotheby’s International Realty who are engaged with a number of their private clients for these properties.”
Auctioneer Matthew Condon will auction off seven luxurious tropical North Queensland properties on the night.
"We will also be using GAVL (an online auction) technology, allowing live streaming and online bidding anywhere in the world, in fact we are the only Queensland agency doing so, aligning with our National and International presence," says Ms Arthur.
At Queensland Sotheby's International Realty's last auction event, there was a registered bidder putting forth bids from a yacht off the coast of Vietnam.
One of Ms Wolveridge's properties to be auctioned on the night includes 'Batujimba', a lakeside garden oasis inspired by the designs of Ceylonese architect Geoffrey Bawa.

Ms Wolveridge told WILLIAMS MEDIA the market in Tropical North Queensland is as sunny as the gorgeous weather.
