Iconic Fortitude Valley residence Brookes Street House has been sold by Place’s Heath Williams for $3.2m.

Speaking to LUXURY LIST WEEKEND, Heath said the campaign didn’t even make it to market after a chance encounter at a sushi restaurant.

“The buyers are a local couple, friends who knew the home socially.

They had always loved it and expressed interest if I ever was selling, but you never know for sure.

I ran into them when I was at local sushi restaurant in James Street and they asked how my house renovations were going.

I said I was preparing to sell and the rest is history,” Heath explained.

Nestled between a heritage-listed church and its hall, the modern inner city home was created by architect James Russell for his family and purchased by Heath as a passion project in 2021.

Informed by a background in design, Heath working with Michael Hogg of Hogg and Lamb to craft a thoughtful renovation in the same design language as the original.

“Decisions were made purely on design and not resale. I converted to a 2 bedroom from a 3 bedroom, which is not something you do when you’re trying to please everyone,” Heath told LUXURY LIST WEEKEND.

Heath is now looking forward to developing new design focused projects. 

“I am moving into another architectural house designed by Paul Owen of Owen Architects while I look for the right block of land for my architect partner to design a totally new build house,” he explained.
