Place Managing Director Sarah Hackett has sold three luxury Brisbane properties this week, as interest in the city’s riverfront surges.

Multi-award-winning 89 Welsby Street was sold for a record-breaking $18 million after 32 days on the market.

There were multiple second inspections and three written offers for the New Farm residence, which was extensively renovated in 2021 by the renowned Hampton Homes, architect Tomm Kanchanasinith and interior designer David Mann.

Speaking to LUXURY LIST WEEKEND, Sarah Hackett said buyers were attracted by the award-winning build with an exclusive New Farm riverfront position.

“Prospective buyers for 89 Welsby Street were mostly locals, who particularly liked the property’s NE aspect, 873sqm land size, and the recent renovation.”

The three-level modernist home with infinity pool and flood-free private pontoon was purchased by a local professional couple.

Sarah also sold 30 Aaron Avenue Hawthorne with co-agent Lauren Marmotta. The six-bedroom landmark property with a private jetty and swimming pool sold for $7.4m.

There were 60 qualified inspections of mostly local buyers prior to the sale and multiple offers for the riverfront home.

“Buyers were attracted to the property’s 845sqm of direct riverfront in one of Brisbane’s most exclusive and tranquil streets,” Sarah explained to LUXURY LIST WEEKEND.

Sarah told LUXURY LIST WEEKEND there were 61 inspections prior to the sale, with five interested buyers and second inspections. Three written offers were received before the home was sold to a local family.
