Wahroonga’s historic 'Redleaf' estate, set on approximately 4,996sqm over four titles, has been sold by Darren Curtis and Ken Jacobs of Ken Jacobs Christie’s International.
The Arts and Crafts Federation style home was built by English architect Howard Joseland in 1899 and underwent an award-winning restoration in 1996 by the Moran family.
Darren Curtis told WILLIAMS MEDIA the amount of interest in the property was excellent. “It is common knowledge that this is arguably the most important landholding in the suburb, held by the same family for many, many years. Rare to come to market and rare scale meant that interest would always be high, the feedback I received was great,” he told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
The campaign lasted 36 days, with approx. 8 appointments prior to the sale. “All qualified, all capable,” Darren told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
All details of the sale are withheld, but the public guide sold was $8.8m - $9.2m.
Darren remains positive about the outlook for the Sydney luxury property market. “We cover all of Sydney and I am very encouraged by the rate of enquiry. Overseas enquiry is also high and I think this bodes well for the coming months and beyond. I understand there is uncertainty, but I expect people to take their home purchase even more seriously, take advantage of the lower interest rates and keep things moving.”
“I understand my stock is a little out of kilter with the broader market but interest remains high and confidence in Sydney as a destination remains VERY high.”
The grand estate enjoys a prominent setting with dual street access, five lock up garages, and sprawling grounds are overlooked by wraparound verandahs.
Inside, the residence pairs magnificent period features with grand spaces such as the dining room and billiard/games room, along with family living, including casual living and dining, and a retro kitchen with north facing alfresco terrace, butler's pantry, and washroom.
The upper level hosts magnificent bedroom suites, including the grand master with sitting room, fireplace and balcony.
A flexible loft style teenage retreat, home office or fifth bedroom, and a separate 3 bed, 1 bath cottage, complete the offering.
The home rests directly adjacent to the village, steps to the rail, private schools, bus and Wahroonga Public.
