After a gruelling 274-bid auction on Saturday, the buyer finally knocked out persistent underbidders by paying $6,151,000 for their dream waterfront home.

“We knew we had deep interest in the home but clearly the result took us by surprise,” he admitted.
"The bidding opened at $4.2 million, right on the reserve. It got there very slowly - it took 50 minutes – but those buyers just decided they wanted it and wouldn’t let go.”

Hayden said the technology didn’t appear to phase bidders or hold buyers back, “It’s a format buyers have warmed to quickly.”
The outstanding result has set a new record for the street. “Kangaroo Point is a hidden gem,” Hayden concluded. “We’re seeing a trend of buyers moving south for a better lifestyle.”
