The Islington Hotel is one of Hobart’s finest luxury boutique hotels, housed in a grand old Regency house with a sophisticated glass, marble and sandstone facelift.

Built in 1847, the original mansion had been converted to bed and breakfast accommodation in the 1980s. It was restored and expanded by Circa Morris-Nunn Chua Architects prior to opening in 2005 and has since been a regular recipient of numerous prestigious awards.

“Islington was, for us as architects, the transformation of an unusual 1840s Georgian Regency townhouse (it has its main entrance on the side, rather than the front of the house) into an elegant boutique hotel, modelled around a grand new conservatory,” Robert Morris-Nunn explained to WILLIAMS MEDIA. “This new glass jewel created a new ‘heart’ to the abode, orientated as it is towards the garden pool and the mountain beyond. It has become an elegant retreat favoured by many a discerning traveller to Hobart.”

The hotel is positioned to benefit from its proximity to existing and future tourism demand-generating infrastructure in South Hobart, a destination which is benefitting from strong growth in visitation.

The property is being offered for sale by Expression of Interest closing Friday 25 September at 12pm (AEDT) if not sold prior.
