“Although it is run as a working farm, Ravensdale is a beautiful lifestyle property - from the verandah you look over the undulating land and flowing creek. It is so calm and peaceful”
“Currently utilised as a Superfine Merino farm, its location in the east coast wine growing belt means there is a lot of interest from vineyards on the mainland as well as overseas looking for a stable climate, particularly areas where they can safeguard their operations against future climate change.”

In c.1826 it was granted to James Hobbs and his wife Mary Ann, in recognition of Hobbs' feat in circumnavigating Van Diemen’s Land to chart its coastline and locate ports and suitable land for settlement.
Hobbs extended the homestead and farmed the then 3,304 acre property until it was sold in 1846. William Noyes, a Police Magistrate, purchased the farm and established a flour mill.
