Brookfield Multiplex has completed construction of Melbourne's second tallest building.
Schiavello and PDG's $300 million Prima Tower is built. The 72-level residential tower comprises 661 apartments in one, two and three-bedroom configurations. The dramatic bronze glass facade ensures sweeping views of the Melbourne CBD, Southbank and Docklands. Brookfield Multiplex revised construction methods for the tower, in order to maximise productivity and safety on a project that was so much taller than any previously built. Situated on a busy CBD site, the project was further complicated by 300 lower-level apartment settlements occurring mid-way through construction. The remaining 35 levels were built with minimal disruption to the growing lower-level community. Roberto Dreolini, of Disegno Australia, led the team of architects and designers. Resort-style amenities include pool, spa, sauna, gym, sun deck, virtual golf driving range, and external barbecue area.
