A fourth generation Weir, his great grandfather built the Weir name with his engineering shop at Cotton Tree, which was passed down to his grandfather. Bodie’s father then took over the shop, converting it to the famous Weir’s Surf Shop.

Since Bodie entered the industry in 2007, the transition was more than a career shift; it was a calling driven by a passion for limitless opportunities. "I enjoy helping buyers and sellers with one of the biggest decisions in their lives”, says Bodie, reflecting on his initial attraction to the industry.

Driven by a desire to carve a brighter future for his family and reclaim control over his time, Bodie's decision to establish Weir & Co started three years before he thought “it’s time”. Reflecting on what he is most excited about for his future of being a business owner, Bodie says "Financial freedom, family life balance with more holidays and driving the ship ourselves". 

When asked about his fears in this journey, Bodie confidently states, “No fears. Anything was going to be better than working where I was, so I was more than excited to do this!”.
