Working in real estate can involve long and unpredictable hours, making it tough for families. Being a family-run firm, it's natural that Toop&Toop in Adelaide has sought to address this issue for their staff with their own creche. Located at their head office, the service is free for the entire team.
“Running a business as a young female, we can see how the business world can get hard for career driven women who want to raise a family and keep kicking goals in their business life," said Genevieve Toop, Head of Sales & Marketing, Toop&Toop. “We have also seen, first hand growing up in the real estate world how hard this has been traditionally to juggle. For women in real estate in particular, it has been seen that one has to give to the other... career or start a family... but with the way business is going, with all of the innovation, technology, communication and ease of accessibility, at Toop&Toop we can't see why women can't have both.”
Suzannah Toop, Head of Property Management at Toop&Toop, said the creche is designed to help their team maintain a sustainable real estate career. “Providing care for both Mums returning back to work, and also our dads if their partners need some support, we believe will result in recruiting and retaining our team, allow them to perform at their best and allow them to see their children more, something that is a common problem and which provides a big burden of guilt for some real estate agents.”
