Obamas buy their Washington rental
Barack and Michelle Obama have paid US$8.1 million (just over AU$10 million) for the Kalorama, Washington, home they have been living in since January.

Barack and Michelle Obama have paid US$8.1 million (just over AU$10 million) for the home they have been living in since January.
The Obamas have made it clear they wish to stay in Washington until their youngest daughter, Sasha, finishes school.
The home has nine bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms, a basement with room for staff, large terraces and gardens, and a large gated courtyard where up to 10 Secret Service cars can park.

Joe Lockhart, the co-founder of Glover Park Group, and his wife Giovanna Gray Lockhart, the Washington editor of magazine Glamour, bought the home in 2014. The home had been renovated in 2011.
