The Obamas have made it clear they wish to stay in Washington until their youngest daughter, Sasha, finishes school.
The home has nine bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms, a basement with room for staff, large terraces and gardens, and a large gated courtyard where up to 10 Secret Service cars can park.

Joe Lockhart, the co-founder of Glover Park Group, and his wife Giovanna Gray Lockhart, the Washington editor of magazine Glamour, bought the home in 2014. The home had been renovated in 2011.
