There are several areas in NSW where tradies are in short supply, according to a new study from serviceseeking.com.au.
A recent study by 'find-a-tradie' website, ServiceSeeking.com.au, reveals there are several areas in New South Wales where trades are in short supply.
For example, builders in Dubbo and Orana have 69 per cent less competition than the national average. Tradies in those areas can expect to make bigger profits than tradies in other areas, according to serviceseeker.com.au.
Skilled builders on the South Coast of NSW also stand to win more jobs than the national average.
“If you’re a builder in the South Coast or Regional NSW, the undersupply in Dubbo or Shoalhaven is a huge opportunity,” says ServiceSeeking.com.au CEO Jeremy Levitt.
“It’s a great chance for builders to increase their prices and capitalise on the lack of supply,” he said.
Carpenters are "severely undersupplied" in the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley regions, according to the study.
In Newcastle, painters face 50 per cent less competition than the national average.
Plasterers and tilers should consider moving to the South Coast to take advantage of the undersupply of their skills in the region.
“There are rivers of gold for tradies all over New South Wales, they just need to know where to look," said Levitt.
Serviceseeking.com.au determined the results by examining 52,000 quotes submitted through the web site for the second quarter of 2017.
