'The Adobe' was designed by architect Stuart Wilde and is set in the Hinterland of New South Wales' lush South Coast. It is for sale by Robert Hull of Raine and Horne.
Built by Laurie Andrew, this house is an outstanding feature in the landscape and measures over 20,000 square feet on 30 acres of rainforest.
Agent, Robert Hull, told SCHWARTZWILLIAMS, "The uniqueness comes from the original Santa Fey design and concept. The property has great spirituality and soul for the individual or family. It's nestled over a rain forest with views all the way to the pacific."
Some of the walls are five feet thick and over 300,000 bricks were used in the construction. Terracotta tiles that were imported from Mexico are used extensively. Twisted posts of pine, carved in Taos New Mexico, vertical poles and hand rails made from Canadian Oregon are other unique features.
Throughout the house are Adobe fireplaces and the rooftop pool overlooks the acreage. A Japanese bath house with a large eight person spa and sauna is for private pampering.
Outside are citrus and olive trees on the landscaped terraces of local rock. The 300,000 litre water tank has a helipad rated landing surface.
The main house links to the guest accommodation through subterranean tunnels which extend throughout the whole structure of the house itself. Additional accommodation or a manager's cottage is on a private section of the property, with its own separate access.
The home includes eight bedrooms, six bathrooms, a formal lounge room and separate dining room and space for four cars.
