LJ Hooker Broken Hill is the latest office within Australia’s most iconic real estate network to move into sleek new premises.
The popular agency, which has operated in the regional hub for decades, has a new address in the town’s CBD after relocating to a recently acquired building.
Principal of LJ Hooker Broken Hill, Tara Nadge, who took over the business a year ago, said it was an exciting new chapter for her tight-knit team who specialises in residential and commercial sales as well as property management.
“Our old place had been rented and the signage was looking a little tired, so we decided it was the right time to make the move,” she said.
“We purchased the new building to allow us to customise it to meet our needs now and for the future. We’ve designed professional spaces that better the workflow of the team and cater to our clients so we can offer another level of service.
“It is also in a great location, opposite the local entertainment centre, so there is plenty of foot traffic passing.”
Stephen Mutton, LJ Hooker General Manager of Network, congratulated Ms Nadge on the new premises and expanding her business.
“Tara has settled into her new role as principal and found her rhythm, she understands the market and what her clients need,” he said.
“Investing into an office such as this one is paramount to the success and future growth of her business. Across the network, we are seeing more offices update their premises creating a professional and relaxed environment where clients can come to buy, sell or lease property.”
Ms Nadge, who joined LJ Hooker Broken Hill just over two decades ago, took over from former principal, Jim Hickey, in July last year.
Post-pandemic, the mining township remains popular with interstate investors where it is still possible to purchase a property for under $100,000.
Ms Nadge recently sold a property owned by reality TV star Andrew Coleman who appeared on the Seven Network’s Farmer Wants A Wife. The property had been purchased for $149,000 back in 2007 and fetched $225,000 when it was sold.
Among her current listings, Ms Nadge just listed a fully renovated three-bedroom home at 465 Chapple Street with a price guide of $560,000-$598,000. At the upper end, a five-bedroom recently transformed home at 324 Kaolin Street, has a price guide of $525,000. She also has a number of entry-point properties including 244 Bromide Street, a three-bedroom home, which has a price guide of $197,000.
“It is still possible to attract good returns for the right property, so we get a lot of enquiry from investors,” Ms Nadge said.
“There are homebuyers too – people who have grown up here and end up moving back – as well as contractors. So, it is always fairly busy and the market has remained steady.”
