One half of the Ray White New Farm business partnership, Haesley Cush feels most at home with a gavel in his hand and a captivated audience.
If you're in the Brisbane real estate scene and you don’t know of Ray White auctioneer and business owner Haesley Cush then you’ve been living under a rock.
One half of the hugely successful Ray White New Farm business partnership, Haesley Cush feels most at home with a gavel in his hand and a captivated audience. While his business partner Matt Lancashire is best known for his impressive sales success, Haesley is the chief auctioneer and sales trainer for the pair’s six inner city Brisbane offices.
Haesley is always on the go and the time in his calendar is completely allocated from the morning onwards. It includes all aspects of his life - health, relationships and business. And if it’s in the calendar, it’s non-negotiable including auctions. He said auctions represent a creative outlet in his often hectic schedule.
“I love the combination of entertaining a crowd while performing a public negotiation with absolutely no room for error,” he said.
“When I found auctioneering, I was looking for this creative outlet while still being a real estate agent.
“I was blessed and fortunate enough to meet and shadow Phil Parker from Ray White Ascot, the greatest auctioneer I’ve ever seen.”
Haesley's top three tips for rookie auctioneers was firstly to expect the unexpected. Secondly, you don’t have to be the best presented person in the world but you do have to be the best presented person at the auction and finally, they don’t know your game plan so if things go off plan just keep going.
