The design splits the house into two buildings separated by a covered breezeway with a large front deck.

Lamington is located in the southern part of the Beaudesert Shire, Queensland, bordering the Lamington National Park, a world heritage listed wilderness area that has the largest tract of undisturbed sub-tropical rainforest in Australia.
