Real estate's top performers in the Northern Territory were recognised last week at the 2016 REINT Awards for Professional Excellence at a black-tie event at the Darwin Convention Centre.

The Chief Executive officer of the REINT, Quentin Kilian, said, "After a very tough year for our industry, it was nice to be able to reward those that have been successful throughout the year."

Elders Real Estate took out the award for Large Agency of the Year for a record fourth year in a row, cementing their position in the industry.

Also from Elders, Derek Hart picked up the award for Residential Salesperson of the Year, and the group won the 2016 Community Service Award in recognition of its donations worth over $100,000 during the year to a range of charities and organisations.

Knight Frank NT was awarded Medium Agency of the year and Commercial Agency of the Year. Also from Knight Frank, Jacqueline Reid was voted Commercial Property Manager of the Year.

Top End Real Estate was the Small Agency of the Year for the second year in a row.

The strongly contested Residential Property Manager of the Year award went to Kathy Smart of First National Real Estate O’Donoghues.

The 2016 Achievement Award, which recognises newcomers to the industry, went to Lori Bowman of LJ Hooker Darwin.

The 2016 Innovation Award and 2016 Communications Award both went to Roost Realty for the opening of Australia’s first real estate café. This innovative concept combines a café and a real estate office, allows visitors to scan real estate listings while they sip a coffee.

Kilian said the winners will now represent the Northern Territory at the REIA national awards, which are being held in Canberra next March.
