A Chinese property search app is using virtual reality technology to help real estate hunters identify if properties they are inspecting could be haunted.
Chinese real estate search app, Spacious, has launched a new feature that allows property hunters to identify discounted apartments that might be haunted, and incorporates virtual reality 'ghosts' inspired by Pokemon Go.
In China, if an "unusual death" occurs in a property, it is believed to be bad Feng Shui as the ghost of the deceased is believed to occupy the property. These 'haunted' properties will often rent or sell at a discount to the market.
Using this knowledge of the Chinese property market, the CEO and founder of Spacious, Asif Ghafoor, set out to identify potentially haunted properties to property hunters.
When property searchers are in the vicinity of a potentially haunted location, the virtual reality technology will make ghosts actually appear on the screen. The ghosts can be 'caught', in the same way characters can be caught in Pokemon, the game craze that swept the world in recent months.
Spacious CEO and founder, Asif Ghafoor, said "Using our app, you can now walk around town, find listings overlaid on the real world so you can visualize your new home and see that additional level of insight into what it would be like to live there.
"In addition, we also added the ghosts around town so you can catch them using your phone if you fancy some exercise."
