Vaucluse Homestead, a historic Tasmanian property tracing back to the 1830s, has been listed for sale by CBRE Agribusiness.

Spanning 38ha, the heritage-rich property is home to a fully renovated homestead situated on the banks of the South Esk River.

Built in the 1830s, the stunning residence comprises 10 guest/bedrooms – each with its own ensuite, a commercial kitchen, formal dining room and multiple entertaining and living areas.

Located 44km (lineal) from Launceston and 123km (lineal) from Hobart, the property also includes historic stables, additional three-bedroom self-contained accommodation and an in-ground swimming pool.

The surrounding grounds feature lawns, manicured gardens and gazebo overlooking the South Esk River.

CBRE’s Danny Thomas, Duncan McCulloch and James Beer have been appointed to market the property for sale via Expression of Interest.

James Beer told WILLIAMS MEDIA the property has had quite a bit of enquiry, given it has only been on the market for a week.

“Most of the enquiry has been domestic - people looking for a potential residence, or those coming from a tourism or accommodation perspective."

It has been marketed through an international expression of interest campaign.

The property was purchased in 2015 by an agricultural fund, Proterra Investment Partners.

“They want to retain the farm and offload the house which they've renovated."

He said the market in Tasmania is strong, with an increased amount of enquiry from people coming in to the mainland.

“It is clean and green. A lot of people are looking at a tree change, they want to move from Sydney and Melbourne, and come down somewhere they can get a beautiful house on an acreage.”

Mr McCulloch said the unique property will attract widespread buyer interest.

Vaucluse Homestead is being offered for sale by Expression of Interest, closing November 7 at 4pm (AEST).
