James Packer has lodged plans for his bigger casino at Barangaroo.
Crown Resorts has finally lodged its development application for the casino at Barangaroo in Sydney, three years after James Packer first announced the plan. Designed by Wilkinson Eyre Architects, the building will be 271 metres tall and feature penthouses, apartments, restaurants, gaming floors, hotel rooms and restaurants. The submitted plans also include 610 car-parking spaces, almost 400 percent more than the initial design. Independent Sydney MP Alex Greenwich said that Crown continues to change the design of the casino. Crown Resorts and builder Lend Lease have faced criticism from the City of Sydney, the owners of The Star Casino and other groups over the casino's increasing size. The public has until August 24 to comment on Crown's submission.
