Ray White Collective, a suite of businesses that includes top offices in the sought after Brisbane suburbs of New Farm, Bulimba, Clayfield and Toowong, recorded a nearly 70 per cent clearance rate after taking 27 lots to auction at the night time event.
The room at Howard Smith Wharves was packed with hopeful buyers last night for Ray White Collective’s annual ‘Auction Under the Stars’ event.
Ray White Collective, a suite of businesses that includes top offices in the sought after Brisbane suburbs of New Farm, Bulimba, Clayfield and Toowong, recorded a nearly 70 per cent clearance rate after taking 27 lots to auction at the night time event.
Collectively, they sold close to $40 million worth of Brisbane real estate after more than 63 bidders registered to buy, including several interstate and international buyers.
Following the successful Brisbane 100 Auction Experience earlier in the day featuring 19 Ray White offices from around south-east Queensland that saw more than $40 million worth of property transacted, the Auction Under the Stars event capped off a stellar day of Ray White auction results.
The top sale of the night was 109 Barton Rd, Hawthorne which sold for $3.425 million through Ray White Bulimba’s Brandon Wortley and Alex Donnan.
“The buyer was a local family coming from acreage who used a buyer’s agent. They came through late in the campaign, it was only a few days ago,” Mr Wortley said.
“It was a strong campaign, we had about 70 plus inspections and multiple registrations. The house is unique for the area, it’s a new build and on a roughly 600sqm block which is a difficult size to find in Hawthorne so this representated a middle ground between those larger blocks available and smaller 400sqm blocks.”
Ray White Collective principal and auctioneer Haesley Cush said houses were in hot demand last night, but the appetite for apartments was still evident.
“The night started really strong with the first seven selling under the hammer,” Mr Cush said.
“We’ve seen strength in the apartment market in Brisbane in the last couple of years but I believe tonight was the resurgence of the house market with properties in Bulimba and New Farm selling well under the hammer.
“The highlight of the night was Ray White Bulimba agent Robyn Hoare’s 201/24 Wicklow St, Kangaroo Point (pictured above) apartment which was called on the market at around $2.8 million and sold for $3.365 million.”
