Have you built something you’re proud of? There’s never been a better time to enter the 2020 Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards.
Highly regarded across Queensland as the industry’s most prestigious awards program for over 30 years, the 2020 Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards attracts entries from small and big builders and tradies alike.
Master Builders CEO, Grant Galvin, wants to encourage companies and individuals to submit their best builds, no matter how big or small the project.
“The Housing & Construction Awards are the perfect opportunity for builders and trade contractors and their teams to get the recognition they deserve," said Mr Galvin.
“In 2019, 10 of our Queensland winners even went on to gain accolades at the National Excellence in Building & Construction Awards.”
The National Specialist Contractor of the Year – Residential recipient Ronald Neil Walkley, who also won Queensland Residential Trade Contractor of the Year, was tasked with a massive renovation at an exclusive Gold Coast residence nestled on the Nerang River.
It may seem impossible to believe, but Walkley laid every stone, tile and paver in the mammoth job himself.
“I was there for at least a year, six days a week. Now that I look back at the job, I see all the effort and the full scale of it, it’s huge. At the time, I was so in my element and in the zone, I couldn’t see that,” said Mr Walkley.
“From the road down to the bottom of the renovation, it was approximately four storeys.
“I know that road well, I laid at least 200 square metres of cobble stones up to the road.”
This year’s Awards program is better than ever, and independent judges look for projects and individuals, like Ronald Walkley, that are at the cutting edge of building innovation and quality craftsmanship and are contributing to making Queensland great.
There’s a category to suit almost every type of builder, with options available for small, medium and large building businesses, plus speciality tradespeople, apprentices and trade contractors.
Some of the highest accolades include:
While awards like Rising Star, Women in Building and Apprentice of the Year cater for individual entrants.
