Proudly supported by the Real Estate Institute’s, RECON Jobs is a jobs website tailored to the real estate industry.
Produced in partnership with the Real Estate Institute of Australia, and participating state and territory Real Estate Institutes, RECON Jobs is part of The Real Estate Conversation’s family of websites.
The industry owned jobs board provides a direct link between employers in the real estate industry, who are searching for top-notch staff, and those who are already working in the industry, who possess a wealth of experience and highly sought after skills, using the candidate search functions.
The official national jobs board for The Real Estate Institute of Australia, RECON Jobs caters specifically to your field - whether that be in real estate sales, property management, auctioneering, property development, construction, architecture, or interior design - so you can engage directly with people in the real estate and property industries.
On the board as Director of RECON Jobs, Deputy President of the Real Estate Institute of Australia Hayden Groves says the real estate industry needs an industry-specific jobs website that delivers suitable, quality candidates.
“Wading through hundreds of applications received after advertising a real estate job on the generic sites dominant in the market is unproductive and often fails to reveal a suitable candidate.
“A specific, well targeted, and widely used jobs portal will cut through and isolate those candidates that aren’t already connected to the industry,” Mr Groves said.
“With the support of industry recruiters, RECON Jobs delivers a cost-effective alternative to mainstream jobs websites. It also ensures the industry stays in control of related business services, and RECON Job’s affiliation with REIA ensures that,” Mr Groves continued.
One of those industry recruiters is Virginia Brookes of Resolver Recruitment.
Ms Brookes says it’s now more important than ever for the industry to have a specific real estate careers portal.
“With the RECON Jobs platform, both employers and employees can come to this site to find relevant information on not just jobs, but articles on employment, industry trends, salaries, and lots of relevant information for our industry. It’s a site built for our industry, by our industry.”
Sharon Bennie, Director of Specialist Property Recruitment says RECON Jobs is as much a community as it is a jobs website.
“We wanted to create a community - it’s about collaborating as an industry and creating a space where information can be pooled, and opportunities specific to our industry can be shared,” she said.
“When a job seeker applies for a position via a niche job board, it shows that they keep up on industry trends.
“For employers, placing on an industry-specific job board means you’re serious about your field. It also shows that you’ve done your research and you understand where the top talent goes to find opportunities; in short, you’re an industry insider,” Ms Bennie said.
Director of Iconic Recruit, Jess Mayes, says RECON Jobs offers exclusive access to industry courses.
"RECON Jobs also offers news and training courses you won’t find anywhere else, as well as direct access to the industry bodies," Ms Mayes said.
"It’s important because people in real estate need to have a single point of call when they are looking for a new job or career in real estate."
Director of Real Estate Career Developers, Melissa Karatjas, says she’s already heard of a few success stories that have come out of the website.
“We have had a couple of candidates contact us via Facebook in regard to roles RECON Jobs have shared on their Facebook page,” she said.
With blogs written by recruiters, career articles, job alerts and more, Managing Director and Founder of Longreach Recruitment, Simon Browne says there are plenty of reasons why jobs seekers should use the website.
“Job seekers can get a real feel for the employers through their presence, how they prepare their advertising and present their brand.
“It will also allow real estate job seekers to identify the most active specialist recruiters so they can align with a consultant that will help them navigate the active jobs, and ensure the next job is one for the long term,” Mr Browne said.
