An amazing hinterland retreat with its own waterfall has been sold for $6m after only being on the market for five days.
Ku Darroch, of Real Estate Distinction Byron Bay, said the stunning rainforest retreat set on 56 acres and surrounded by rainforest and lush green valleys, was extremely rare in the market.
“This is an extraordinary property, rustic, elegant and sophisticated,” he says, “The land flows down to the Wilson River, deep swimming holes, rainforest, flowing stream and a waterfall in the middle of the property.”
It sold to a buyer from Melbourne who wanted a retreat to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Darroch told WILLIAMS MEDIA the buyers "took one look at it" and immediately fell in love with the property.
"The buyer who bought the property had looked at several properties prior to this one and had missed out on them all. They just fell in love with it. They said they could really feel the energy and peace of the land. They felt so calm and peaceful there," he told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
"It is an amazing piece of land that was difficult to price, but someone came along who saw the property and were prepared to pay the price because they really wanted it. That was the magic of the day for me" he said.
A popular location for film and photo shoots, this property has also been a highly sought after destination wedding venue, hosting the 2016 wedding of actress and producer Margot Robbie.
The property and surrounds also inspired author Di Young, who lived at Coorabella while writing the Australian book turned animated film, FernGully – The Last Rainforest.
The home was previously owned by designer Giovanni D'Ercole, founder of the LOVE & HATRED luxury jewellery brand, who transformed the stunning Queenslander with a balance of classic and contemporary.
Darroch told WILLIAMS MEDIA D'Ercole was finally ready to sell the property after 25 years of living there.
Centered around a large, open kitchen, the home features four luxuriously spacious bedrooms, four bathrooms, studies and a library. Huge wraparound verandas allow a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living.
The home showcases original features such as 14ft towering ceilings with original pressed-tin finishes, textured leadlight window panels, claw-footed bath, with Australian Cedar used throughout.
Darroch told WILLIAMS MEDIA the day was "magical".
"The Gods really shone on the property that day. It was just a perfect alignment of a seller who was committed to selling, and a buyer who immediately fell in love with the property and were willing to pay a large sum of money to get it," he said.
